In our last blog, we began to cover some of the little known electronic cigarette facts out there. While you may come to us for e-cig coupons, we also want you to feel like you can come to us for all other things related to electronic cigarettes, too! Today we’re going to cover a few more little known facts concerning electronic cigarettes. How many of these did you already know about?
- The FDA desperately wants to regulate electronic cigarettes. The FDA regulates some tobacco products, including cigarettes, cigarette tobacco, roll-your-own tobacco and smokeless tobacco. But it wasn’t until 2014 that the agency proposed requirements for e-cigarettes, nicotine gels and dissolvable tobacco, among other previously unregulated tobacco products, under the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act.
- With some maintenance, electronic cigarettes are reusable! While this one is probably a little more widely known than it used to be, it’s still worth mentioning. E-cigarette devices are battery-powered, and as long as you remember to keep the battery charged they’re reusable (although maintenance and usability will depend on the type of e-cigarette device you’re using).
- Electronic cigarettes can cost less than a traditional cigarette habit. Did you know if you’re smoking around a pack a day, you’re spending upwards of $1000 if not more per year to get that nicotine fix you crave? This means that in many cases, an electronic cigarette habit is cheaper. The cost of a year’s worth of replacement cartridges for sustaining the equivalent of a pack-a-day habit can only cost about $600!
